True Light Productions is pleased topresent the world premiere of award-winning playwright Steve Sherman’s ON CAMPUS, directed by Lincoln Center Theater Director’s Lab member Marc Santa Maria. ON CAMPUS will play a 3-week limited engagement at the LABA Theater at 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street between First and Second Avenues, NYC). Performances begin Thursday, March 10th through Saturday, March 26th.

On Campus reflects the pressures put upon university students who try to establish various relationships despite social and cultural differences.  Meanwhile, a precarious affair between a student and professor throws all characters into a downward spiral, forcing everyone to help each other overcome the challenges of college life.

With Caitlin Gold, Jake Millgard*, Osvaldo Plasencia*, Sarah Saunders, Steve Sherman*, Ed Stelz and Chloe Tuttle. Hana Kalinski and Steve Sherman are the producers. Set design by Daniel Zimmerman and lighting design by Chad Lefebvre. Estie Sarvasy is the production stage manager.

ON CAMPUS plays the following schedule through Saturday, March 26th:

Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8pm
Sundays at 2pm
Extra performance Monday, March 21st at 8pm

This year’s selected playwrights are Jacqueline Goldfinger from Pennsylvania, Rich Rubin from Oregon, Marilynn Barner Anselmi from North Carolina, Duncan Pflaster from New York, and Riti Sachdeva from New Mexico. Kicking off NewBorn will be the resident reading of David StallingsThe ReEducation of Arizona, helmed by resident director Cristina Alicea.

Each play receives a free reading with the possibility of a second to the recipient of the Audience Favorite Award (announced Saturday, February 5th before midnight on the MTWorks website). Prior to the festival, the MTWorks’ board of directors will bestow the first Excellence in Playwriting Award.
